Choosing the right air conditioning system
Every Perth home is different and we have different needs when it comes to choosing the right air conditioning system for our homes. When making the choice to install air conditioning and when you do, you need to take in some considerations, so we’ve made a list of factors we feel are important:
1. Location
Australia has some of the highest temperatures in the world and surprisingly it can reach some very low temperatures. In Perth, you can be beachside, in the hills, North of the river, or South of the river and each location reaches different temperature extremes in hot and cold. If you find your location is hot and humid, you might find you only want cooling. Where as if you were located in an area that where the air is cool and dry you would want to install a reverse cycle system.
At Supacool we can provide a system to suit any needs. We specialise in Daikin systems advance technology that helps to absorbs heat inside and dissipates it outside, doing the reverse when your looking to warm your home.
2. Type of System
With a selection of options, Supacool is confident we will find you the best air conditioning system for your home.

3. Power Size and Style
You might think that all air conditioners are the same, but just branded differently… That’s not true there is a massive difference in the power and size of the unit. Choosing the system for your home has many factors including two majors: how big your space is and the number of rooms you want the air conditioned.
Choosing the appropriate system for your home or space will mean you get the maximum efficiency. If it’s oversized you will be wasting energy (and money) and if it’s too small the usage will put strain on the unit and you will lose efficiency and the life of the product will wear out sooner.
Using the information below, our specialised consultants will be able to help you consider some important factors when choosing your system.
- Room Size – Large or small will decide the capacity size and power you will need.
- Insulation – Insulated spaces will require a lower air conditioning capacity.
- Window Size and Glass Insulation – Having larger windows with minimum insulation factor (double glazed) will require a higher capacity unit. Smaller windows may result in a lower capacity unit.
- Environmental Aspect – A room facing east or west may need a different capacity air conditioner than a room facing north.
- Climate – Homes built near the coast will need a different capacity unit from a house built in the hills.
4. Interior Design
Among all the factors you need to take into consideration is design and functionality in your space. When choosing a system you need to look at your home and ask will it match our decor or style? Ask yourself these questions:
Is having a split system going to impact the style of your room?
Would you prefer to have discreet vents in the ceiling that won’t compromise the decor?
Our specialist consultants will design you a customise a plan that will best suit your home’s interior design.
5. Energy Efficiency
The best and easiest way to tell if your appliance is energy efficient is through the energy star rating, a government initiative to help for you to make an informed decision. Daikin Split System Air Conditioners are the most energy efficient systems you can buy with the US7 being a 7 star rating!
Not only are Daikin Systems highly rated, but they also have excellent features like the Split System ‘Intelligent Eye’ feature which will reset to the most energy efficient temperature if the room has been unoccupied for 20 minutes.
All Daikin Daikin air conditioners exceed the MEPS (Minimum Energy Performance Standards). Which means you can enjoy your home comfortable all year long without worrying about inflated power bills!
6. Air Quality
Family members with asthma, hay fever or allergies can now relax with Daikin. All Daikin split system air conditioners are approved by the National Asthma Council Australia’s Sensitive Choice program. In fact they are the only Split Systems in Australia that carry its blue butterfly symbol.
7. Upgrade to iZone 325 Controller
This is where it gets fun…
Whilst your air conditioner does come with a standard controller we recommend the iZone 325 Controller upgrade.
With iZone 325 touch screen controller you have total temperature control of each room in your home. Heating and cooling in your home is effortless with adjustable air distribution, flexible temperature, modifiable airflow to each room. You can even stop the airflow to certain rooms for maximum efficiency and savings.
Being discreet, stylish and luxurious you will enjoy having a touch screen in you home.
